We are Mike and Donna Traylor. We are the owners of a small hobby Scottish Terrier and Chihuahuas in North Alabama. Donna is the original Scottish terrier lover of the Traylor family, although Mike came to love the scottie breed too, after Donna introduced him to these wonderful terriers. In turn, Mike taught Donna to love the Chihuahua, as they had been a part of his family since he was a young child.
Big changes have taken place in the Traylor’s life in the last five years. It was always their dream to move to the country where their dogs would have more than a neighborhood back yard for play. Now, they have realized this dream, and their dogs have their own heated and air conditioned building, as well as a nice area to run under the big trees. When there is a new mom, she and the Scottish terrier puppies stay in the house with the family so they can get close attention. Some of the older Scottish terriers are now spayed and are full time couch potatoes. They even get along with our new cat, Precious. We lost our 21 year old cat a few years ago.
Traylor Kennels is a small Scottish terrier kennel, devoted to selling AKC Scottish terriers who represent the standard in confirmation. Our Scottish Terriers all have good temperament, and are family pets first, breeders of Scottish terrier puppies second. We enjoy placing Scottish Terrier puppies with families. Only in rare cases do we sell a dog with breeding rights. The exception would be to a show home or someone we felt had the same philosophy as we do about working to better the Scottish Terrier breed, yet keeping the Scottish terrier puppy as a family member. We are always eager to answer your questions, and expect the same from you, as we want to know the people our Scottish terriers will own. We also check references, and we ask for your vet’s name as well as two close contacts (one being a neighbor).
We work closely with our vet, and we have a groomer close by who does a beautiful job of grooming our Scottish terriers. If you need a groomer and are in the North Alabama area, feel free to email her at charnel@bellsouth. When you get a Scottish terrier puppy from us, it will come with a health guarantee, and we will be available to you if you have questions.
We have black, brindle, and wheaten Scotties. We do not believe in breeding a scottish terrier each time it is in season. We have Scottish terrier puppies from time to time–but not all the time. We do maintain a waiting list.
We are quite proud of our Chihuahuas. We have both long and smooth coat, and we have both pet and show quality. If you are interested in learning about upcoming litters, feel free to ask us. We only have three chihuahua females and rarely have pups. We have two nice championed sired males. Stud service for chihuahua available.

This picture is of days gone by. Maria, our first chihuahua was not the perfect chihuahua,actually she was a deer chihuahua. She was our first and we learned later from our mentor in Chihuahuas that the deer chihuahua was not the quality that we needed for our kennel. Maria, when bred to Jose, threw awesome pups. She was spayed young, but was our family member for over 11 years. We miss you Maria. Here she is looking over some pups.
